I'm a cheap date. Ask around. In fact, I usually try to pay before you notice. I also tend to leave a fat tip and be gone before the waiter/waitress gets back to the table. Ask around, I've been caught before...right here in Spokane, WA a time or two as well.
THE POWER OF TIPS (Not just a tax haven)
A young lady was bartending and serving everyone in the bar area. No help. Stressed, but pulling it off. The wife & I don't go out much (in fact, at all anymore), but she made our evening with only a few words.
Unfortunately, I messed up. She came to the table just before we got out of there. Figures, the wife slowing me down again. Anyway, she said "I think you've made a mistake when you put down your tip."
"No, I don't think so", I said quietly as we began gathering our things. Suddenly she looked very confused. She held the check out in front of me, pointed to the tip, and I said "Yes, that's right."
She didn't even say goodbye. Her eyes welled up with tears, and she practically ran back to the kitchen without passing GO or collecting anything from the other idiots needing her attention, as we stood up and began to leave.
ALL of the staff began mean-mugging us. I thought for sure someone was going to stop us before we made it out the door. They saw her cry. Saw her "run" back to the kitchen. They were ready to end me, and rightfully so...sort of.
Turns out, they didn't see what they thought they saw. Happened right in front of them. They just assumed...and kept an eye on us until our car was out of sight. True story.
PS - I've helped others save a lot of kids. Helped teach folks how to save lives digitally, around the world. I'm not on LinkedIn or Facebook. I do NOT give a single shti what you believe. Make it a great day, my friends.😎 https://digital4ensics.com
